OK… so this is not a regular ViceSpy post. Every once and awhile we come across something that us just unique and the Flow™ Hive is just that. Cool design meets organic/tip-of-the-hipster’s-spear cool.
Bees have not had a good decade. Bee Hives are dying off at ridiculous rate. Since 2007, we have lost 30% of the bees in the US and 20% in Europe and Canada and Heads up… 90% of our global food supply depends on bee-pollinated plants. We need a way for the general population (amateurs) to be compelled to keep bees and we think Flow™ Hive may bee (get it) a way to help get this done.
Stuart and Cedar Anderson have been working on this invention for a decade and for the past three years have been field testing their ‘Flow Hive’ design. The main issue with bee keeping is that it is nearly impossible to get the honey out without killing or injuring bees. The Flow™ Hive gives anyone the ability to harvest honey with little or no disturbance to the bees. Simply turn the honey tap and the honey drains right out of the bee hives. Easy for the beekeeper and less stressful for the bees.
The Andersons have a KickStarter that begins on February 23rd 2015 and ViceSpy will update this page the moment they go live. It would appear the Anersons decided to go with Indiegogo to host their crowd funding campaign. Check it out here Flow™ Hive on Indiegogo! We are glad to see their campaign is already doing so well. This product is not easily to categorize as one of the seven deadly sins but for the moment ViceSpy is going with Gluttony.
